TKC Verse-by-Verse Bible Commentary UPDATEI just wanted to update readers on the TKC Verse-By-Verse Bible Commentary project. As I have related in the past, I am going through the Bible verse-by-verse and writing commentary on each verse. I am working in both the New and Old Testament so that those interested in the OT commentary can follow along there and those interested in the NT will not have to wait until I reach that point. So far, I have completed the first three chapters of Genesis and the first chapter of Matthew. The commentary is meant to be very basic and more like a tour through the books of the Bible than an exhaustive tome that ends up being four times larger than the Bible itself. Although I keep the commentary for each verse very brief and very simple, I do however touch on matters perhaps not so obvious unless pointed out by a "tour guide". For example, how many readers realize that Matthew 1 relates a genealogy of Jesus that is radically different than the genealogy of Jesus in Luke 3? It is supposed the Matthew genealogy is tracing from Joseph whereas the Luke genealogy is tracing from Mary. I don't know how much of the commentary I will complete and in what amount of time, since I will be working on it whenever I have time. However, I hope to have it complete within the next couple of years. The commentary will be segregated by book and chapter. You can locate the commentary here: http://thekingdomcome.com/taxonomy/term/59 The format will be consistent, with the three columns. The first column will contain the chapter and verse number. The second column will contain the commentary. The third column will contain a link to a lexicon so that the reader can view the original language/text of the verse. At the bottom of each chapter will be links to the next and previous chapter as they are completed. Perhaps when the commentary is completed, I will attempt to publish it in book form. My intention is to complete this simplified commentary and then do another one with even more detail. We'll see.
